Tuition Fee & Financial Assistance

 

  • Tuition Fee

HKD82,500 per academic year. Students are required to complete 66 units in 2 years at HKD2,500 per unit (total HKD165,000).

The tuition fee is paid by two equal installments, normally before the commencement of the first and second semesters. For newly enrolled undergraduate students, HK$15,000 of the first installment plus some fees will have to be paid by the applicants for acceptance of their admission offers and the balance will have to be paid in early September. Students are required to pay full tuition fees per semester during the normative period of study, regardless of the number of units enrolled in the semester.

For students who are required to take make-up course(s) to fulfill the programme pre-requisite and/or General Education courses, additional tuition fee for the make-up course(s) will be charged at HKD1,500 per unit.

 

  • Financial Assistance

Full-time local students may apply for the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) and the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) administered by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) of the Government of HKSAR.   • Scholarship

Liberal and Cultural Studies Academic Awards

The Liberal and Cultural Studies Programme has set up the Liberal and Cultural Studies Academic Awards to students of graduating class who demonstrate good performance or make great improvements in their academic studies. The scholastic awards are given out on a yearly-basis according to the students’ GPA achievement:

 

HKD 6,000 – for student with the highest GPA of graduating class;

HKD 4,000 – for student with the 2nd highest GPA of graduating class;

HKD 2,000 – for student with the 3rd highest GPA of graduating class;

HKD 2,000 – for student with the most improved GPA between 2 semesters of graduating class.

 

Awards for Academic Excellence in the Liberal and Cultural Studies Programme 

College of International Education(CIE) has set up the Awards for Academic Excellence in the Liberal and Cultural Studies Programme to students of non-graduating class who demonstrate good performance or make great improvements in their academic studies. The scholastic awards are given out on a yearly-basis according to the students’ GPA achievement:

 

HKD 3,000 – for student with the highest GPA of non-graduating class;

HKD 2,000 – for student with the 2nd highest GPA of non-graduating class;

HKD 1,000 – for student with the 3rd highest GPA of non-graduating class;

HKD 1,000 – for student with the most improved GPA between 2 semesters of non-graduating class.


Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS)

The HKSAR Government has set up the Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS), which is to award outstanding students pursuing full-time self-financing sub-degree or undergraduate programmes. There are two types of scholarships established under the Scheme, namely, the Outstanding Performance Scholarship and the Best Progress Award.

 

(1) Outstanding Performance Scholarship

 Eligible for current local and/or non-local students; open for student application

 

(2) Best Progress Award

 Eligible for students who successfully completed their study; by Faculty/ Department’s nomination only.
